Vandals attack cars with shovel

Vandals caused damage estimated at thousands of pounds when they attacked vehicles with a shovel and a traffic cone in a Cumbrian town, police said.

A Land Rover windscreen was smashed with the shovel and a camper van's rear window was put through with the cone in Barrow in the early hours of Sunday.

Several cars also had wing mirrors damaged in the Warwick Street, Brighton Street and Thorncliffe Road area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
