Masked robbers target bingo hall

Two masked robber armed with hammers threatened staff at a bingo hall in North Tyneside before stealing cash.

The raid happened at Johnny's Prize Bingo in Carville Road, Wallsend, on Wednesday night.

Police said the men stole cash, mainly in coins, then drove off in a stolen Nissan 200 SX sports car which was later found abandoned.

No-one was injured during the robbery but officers said staff were left "shocked" by their ordeal.
