Body find in missing tourist hunt

Rescue teams searching for a man who was reported missing after failing to meet his girlfriend at a train station in Cumbria have found a body.

Simon Bally, 48, of Foxt, Staffordshire, had arranged to meet his partner at Penrith Station on Monday to begin a holiday in the area.

Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team discovered a body at the foot of Striddle Crag, Warnscale, on Tuesday.

Mr Bally's camper van had been found earlier at Gatesgarth in Buttermere.

Police said he was known to go scrambling and hill walking in isolated locations.
