A rock climber has died after falling more than 250ft (76m) from a mountain in the Lake District.
The 45-year-old Preston man was about to descend from Raven Crag in the Langdale area on Sunday afternoon when he fell from a near-vertical rock face.
He suffered multiple injuries and was airlifted to the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven.
A spokesman for Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team said the man died early on Monday.
