Police search for lamb rustlers

Police are hunting sheep rustlers who targeted a flock in the Lake District.

The thieves struck earlier this month when eight Herdwick Hog lambs were stolen from farmland near Hawkshead Hill at Ambleside.

The animals are thought to have been loaded into a galvanised livestock trailer, which was attached to a light-coloured van.

The Cumbria force is appealing for anyone with information about the theft on 4 April to come forward.
