Storm collapse road set to reopen
Workmen inspect collapse
Repair work started when high tides passed
A section of road which closed after storms created a 40ft (12m) long crater is set to be reopened.

The B5300 coast road between Allonby and Silloth was undermined when high tides breached the sea wall on 9 March - creating a 10ft (3m) deep hole.

Council workmen have now refilled and resurfaced the carriageway and it is due to be reopened to drivers on Tuesday evening.

Traffic lights will be in operation as sea wall repairs continue.

Councillor Ian Stewart, Cumbria County Council's cabinet member for highways, said: "We were fully aware of the disruption caused to local residents and businesses for every day it was out of action."
