Pubs caught in youth drink sting
Two thirds of pubs in a Cumbrian town passed a police test in a crackdown on underage drinking.

A 14-year-old boy was sent in to six pubs in Penrith to attempt to buy alcohol. He was served in two, but was turned away from four establishments.

The exercise was part of a Cumbria Police campaign designed to curb binge and underage drinking.

Staff who served the youth were fined and police have warned of further spot checks throughout the year in Penrith.
