Police have started an inquiry into the collapse of a 25-year-old wind turbine in Cumbria.

The machine - said to be one of the oldest in the county - came down between December 29-30 in high winds.

The turbine at Stobart Mill, Hesket Newmarket, is only capable of producing a small amount of electricity.

The Health and Safety Executive said it would not investigate the incident as no-one was hurt. Police and the turbine owners are looking into the collapse.
