Pub-goers get drink-drive warning
Young people in Carlisle are being warned about the dangers of drinking and driving, as part of an annual national campaign.

Road safety officers are visiting a pub in Botchergate, Carlisle, during the launch of the Department of Transport's Think! Christmas drink-drive campaign.

They will be reminding motorists that they have too much to lose from having even one alcoholic drink.

Shoppers, commuters and party-goers are all being targeted.

Road Safety Minister Jim Fitzpatrick said: "Being caught has serious consequences - a criminal record, minimum one year ban and large fine.

"It's just not worth paying this price for a couple of drinks at the Christmas party. Leave the car keys at home."
