An elderly motorist was killed and several other people injured in a crash between three cars in South Cumbria.
The 71-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on the A5093 at The Green in Millom.
Three occupants of a Volkswagen were taken to hospital and the eight-year-old passenger of a Vauxhall Vectra was treated by paramedics.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the crash, which happened on Saturday afternoon, to contact them.
The road was closed for about eight hours following the incident.
