Masked robbers target jewellers

Police and a helicopter crew are looking for two masked men who robbed a Lake District jewellery shop.

The raid happened on Tuesday afternoon when the men, wearing balaclavas, targeted George Banks' jewellers on Ash Street in Bowness on Windermere.

Cumbria Police confirmed the men got away with a quantity of jewellery.

Their getaway car was chased to Staveley, on the Kendal Road where the men got out and ran off. Police are appealing for information.
