Life-line for homeless families
The plight of homeless people in West Cumbria will take centre stage on Friday at an advice open day.

According to the latest government figures, 32 families in the area were homeless during October to December last year.

Now the county council has joined forces with Impact Housing, local police, and other local organisations to give advice to those affected.

They are holding an open day on Friday at Workington's Carnegie Hall.

Those attending will also get the chance to elect three people who have experienced life on the streets to a special user group which will help the council develop policies to help homeless people across Cumbria.

Also giving advice will be representatives from the Citizens Advice Bureau, Copeland Borough Council, and Derwent and Solway Housing.
