Utility firm celebrates job boost
About 150 jobs have been created at a utility company's call centre following a £500,000 refurbishment.

The workforce at the United Utilities centre in Whitehaven has doubled to 300 in the past six months.

A celebration day is being staged at the offices in North Shore Road on Tuesday to mark the completion of the makeover and the jobs boost.

The centre is the company's main customer care operation and it deals with about 8,000 call every day.
