Fell walker fractures both ankles
A fell walker had to scramble out of a brook after fracturing both her ankles in the Lake District, according to mountain rescue volunteers.

Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team were called to the Stickle Tarn path, Great Langdale, on Friday, where the woman had jumped into a stream.

When they arrived, rescuers said the woman had somehow managed to make her way to safety, despite her injuries.

Her companions are thought to have helped her down the fell side.
