The family of a man killed in a car crash in Cumbria have paid tribute to "everyone's best mate".

Andrew Thompson, 27, from Coniston Drive in Cockermouth, died on Monday when a Mini Cooper carrying six people flipped onto its side near Workington.

The vehicle's other occupants, including the driver, were also injured, two of them seriously.

Mr Thompson's family said he was an enthusiastic cook and gifted musician who would be sadly missed.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash, which happened near the village of Great Clifton.
