Car reg plate sold for £154,000
Jaguar E-type
More than 90 bids were placed for the plate
A car plate bearing the registration CEO1 has been sold for £154,000 in an internet auction.

Derek Clements, of Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, sparked interest from chief executive officers when he put the plate on eBay last month.

More than 90 bids had been placed for the business themed plate at the auction's close on Wednesday afternoon.

Mr Clements' sale of a second plate marked CEO2 failed to reach its reserve price after bids closed at £10,000.

The retired bank manager decided on the sales in order to scale down his classic car collection.

Both plates are from his two classic Jaguar E-types, which he is selling separately.
