Rescuers battle atrocious weather
Mountain rescuers braved atrocious weather conditions to rescue two men trapped on the Cumbrian fells.

The walkers had become stranded on Long Top at Crinkle Crag, Great Langdale, on Friday evening.

Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team battled 65mph wind and heavy rain to search for the men, one of whom has diabetes.

They were blown over several times while trying to reach them, but eventually escorted them to safety.

During the rescue, team members witnessed the rare phenomenon of water blowing uphill on the rock slab known as Bad Step.
