Car parking machines vandalised
Vandals have broken 17 parking meter machines at car parks in a Cumbrian town, causing £7,000 of damage.

Police said the vandals poured an unknown liquid into the coin slots of the machines throughout Cockermouth, causing them to break.

It is believed they struck at several car parks in the town on Boxing Day night including at Sainsbury, Wilkinson's and Wakefield Road.

Cumbria Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
