Police searching for an elderly walker, who has been missing from his Cumbrian home for more than a month, say a body has been discovered.
David Winder, 75, from the Hilton area of Appleby, was last seen going out for his regular walk on 22 March.
Despite a series of searches no trace of him was found.
Police said a man's body was discovered on Saturday at Christy Bank, near Appleby. A formal identification is due to be made in the coming days.
Cumbria Police had been working with mountain rescue teams and caving experts in an effort to locate Mr Winder.
The police spokesman said a post mortem examination would carried out next week.
The body was discovered by a fell walker.
