Boy, 14, critical after accident
A 14-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a camper van outside a school.

The boy was knocked over as he was leaving Morton School, in Carlisle, on Thursday lunchtime.

He suffered a serious head injury and was initially treated at Cumberland Infirmary but later flown to Newcastle General Hospital.

Cumbria Police said the 64-year-old male driver of the camper van was shocked but otherwise uninjured.
