Marchers hope to protect cinema
Protesters are planning to march over plans to turn a cinema into flats.

A developer wants to turn the Art Deco Lonsdale Cinema building into flats, which would force the cinema to close and destroy the former theatre.

A campaign group has been set up to save the building as an arts centre and keep the cinema open.

A planning meeting is being held in March to decide on the proposals and a march is due to be held in the city centre ahead of that in February.
