Countryside forum members sought
People who are passionate about countryside access are invited to join an independent team advising on such issues in Cumbria.

Six new members are being sought for a Local Access Forum to play a leading role in advising the Lake District National Park Authority (LDNPA).

The 20-strong team has expertise in recreation, conservation, tourism, access for all and land management.

Membership lasts for three years and meetings are held four times a year.

The forum team is currently advising the authority on the Rights of Way Improvement Plan, designed to give people more opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors.

Barney Hill, the LDNPA's access development adviser said: "This is an exciting opportunity for people to influence recreational access management across the National Park.

"We are looking for people who have a specific interest in access to the Lake District countryside, as a user, landowner, business operator or conservationist."
