Ward closure plan prompts protest
Hundreds of people marched through the centre of a Cumbrian town on Saturday protesting about the threat of cuts to local health services.

They are particularly concerned about proposals to close two mental health wards at the Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal.

Morecambe Bay Primary Care Trust says the closures are needed to allow cash to be better used elsewhere.

Marchers carried "no cuts" and "save our hospitals" banners.
