Tribute to bicycle tragedy victim
Brian Hutchins
Police are still appealing for witnesses to Mr Hutchins' accident.
The family of a Cumbrian cyclist who died after coming off his bicycle have paid tribute to him.

Brian Hutchins, 44, of Holly Bank, Whitehaven, died in Newcastle General Hospital on Thursday.

Mr Hutchins, a commercial manager at the Sellafield nuclear reprocessing plant, sustained head injuries at Harras Moor in Whitehaven on 28 April.

His family said he was a charming man who would be greatly missed. Police have renewed an appeal for witnesses.

They said: "Brian was a much loved father, son and brother who will be greatly missed by his entire family.

"Following his accident he sustained serious injuries and despite the best efforts of the neuro-surgical unit of the Newcastle General Hospital, Brian sadly died.

"He was a charming man, who had a large number of friends and was well liked by everyone who met him.

"He was an extremely good negotiator and worked his way up through the ranks at Sellafield, becoming a commercial liaison manager where he worked until his accident."

The Newcastle coroner has been informed of Mr Hutchins' death.
