Two 15-year-old girls charged with the manslaughter of a teenager who died in a head-on car crash in Cumbria were driving illegally, a court has heard.
Passenger Kimberly Bouch, 17, died in the crash on 30 December last year at Kirkbride Airfield near Wigton.
Four people are accused of manslaughter including Calum Hill, 18, of Arkleby and Philip Watson, 21, of Moor House Farm. Both deny the charges.
The two girls also denied the charge at Carlisle Crown Court.
On the first day of the trial, the jury heard that the girl drivers were on a disused and unlit airfield driving cars which collided with each other head-on.
Ms Bouch, of Wigton, who was a passenger in a Ford Fiesta which collided with a Renault Clio, suffered serious head injuries from which she never recovered.
The trial continues.
