Vandals cut through leg of pylon
Police in Cumbria are searching for 'reckless' vandals who cut through the leg of an electricity pylon.

Officers and maintenance workers were called to the scene at Grinsdale, near Carlisle, at 1600 BST on Tuesday

They found that one leg of the pylon had been partially sawn through, but say the damage may have been caused earlier in the week.

A police spokesman said the reckless nature of the act cannot be overstated and has appealed for witnesses.

He said: "Those responsible put their own lives at risk and caused potential danger to others."
