Missing Briton's family fly to Bali

The parents of a British woman missing in Bali are flying out to the Indonesian holiday island with detectives on Sunday.

Patrick and Liz Osborne hope the trip will breathe new life into the search for their 35-year-old daughter, Kate, who was last seen on 18 April.

Officers from Cumbria Police have been working with Indonesian officers through Interpol.

They are particularly keen to trace Ms Osborne's 35-year-old long-term boyfriend Jose Henricci, who has not been seen since she disappeared.

Ms Osborne has lived in Bali for nearly four years, teaching English and then acting as a translator following last October's nightclub bombing.

'Charming girl'

The Osborne's decision to go to Bali follows a news conference in the UK, at which they said Kate was happy on the island.

Mrs Osborne said: "We are exceedingly worried. She's the most loving, charming girl."

The couple, who have two other daughters, Christian, 36, and Lucy, 26, said Kate planned to marry Mr Henricci.

Detective Chief Inspector Bill Whitehead of Cumbria Police said he was not sure if Mr Henricci, a professional surfer, was on Bali.

But he added: "A routine part of any inquiry is to speak to anyone who can shed light on the whereabouts of a missing person."

Mr Whitehead said there was no evidence of a struggle at Kate's home and her passport had not been found.

Her car was abandoned close to Bali's airport and her dog was left at her home.
