Eden Project
The Eden Project in Cornwall is a big draw for visitors to Cornwall
Plans for a Eden Project style eco-visitor attraction in Cumbria is to be discussed at a public meeting.

A consortium wants to build an "elemental" theme park, called Utropia, which would feature white knuckle rides based on the elemental themes of air, earth, fire and water.

A public meeting is to be held in Maryport on Tuesday evening to hear more about plans for the eco-theme park on the 1,200 acre former arms dump at Broughton Moor.

A number of business people are behind the project which they say would see thousands of jobs created and millions of pounds of investment brought in.

Consortium leader Nigel Catterson is expected to explain their plans to traders in Maryport at the 1900 BST meeting .

Business people in the town have called the meeting to find out more about the plans an how they might benefit.

Mr Catterson had said if the consortium gained backing from Allerdale Borough Council, the Utropia could be up and running by 2007.
