Brinklow assault arrest man bailed

A man has been released on police bail after being arrested over an assault in Warwickshire which has left a man in a stable but critical condition.

The 62-year-old man suffered serious head injuries when he is believed to have disturbed three men on Sunday near his van in Walkers Terrace, Brinklow.

The arrested man, a 23-year-old from Coventry, has been released pending further inquiries.

Another 23-year-old man was released without charge on Wednesday.

Men, who were all wearing balaclavas, assaulted the 62-year-old man with an unknown object before making off in a black Ford Focus in the direction of Ansty, following the incident at about 1500 BST on Sunday.
