A second person has been arrested over the manslaughter of an elderly couple who died after a fire at a sheltered housing complex in Warwickshire.

Kath and Albert Adams, both 77, died when a fire in a mobility scooter spread to their home in Rugby during the early hours of 27 February.

A second fire at the complex is also being investigated.

An 18-year-old from Rugby has been arrested. A 16-year-old has appeared in court charged with manslaughter.

Mr Adams and his wife died in hospital after the fire at Harold Cox Place.

Their family described the couple as "the rock that united the family".

The second fire at the complex, also thought to have been started close to a mobility scooter, broke out on 1 March.

The 18-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and arson with intent.

The 16-year-old, who cannot be indentified for legal reasons, is charged with two counts of manslaughter with intent to endanger life and two counts of arson.

He has been remanded into secure accommodation until 28 May when he will have a plea and management hearing.
