A female vicar has been appointed to oversee how women are chosen for church roles across Coventry and Warwickshire.

The Reverend Katrina Scott, vicar of St John the Divine, in Willenhall, was chosen to be the Diocese of Coventry's first Dean of Women's Ministry.

She will serve as a full member of the Bishop of Coventry's staff team, which oversees the diocese.

Mrs Scott, who has a one-year-old daughter, was appointed vicar five years ago.

Her husband Nick is also an ordained priest and works as a full-time religious education teacher.
