HGV collision closes M6 motorway

Part of the M6 in Warwickshire was closed after a collision between two heavy goods vehicles.

It happened on the southbound carriageway at about 1410 GMT, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

One of the lorry cabs was badly damaged and the driver's legs were trapped. His condition was serious and his passenger also had a chest injury, the crew said.

Ambulance staff said long queues were building up. The M6 southbound was closed between junction 2 and the M1.
