Woman badly hurt in hit-and-run

A woman has been seriously hurt in a hit-and-run crash in Warwickshire.

Police said the woman, in her 30s, was hit by a car as she crossed Arbury Road, Nuneaton, after getting out of a taxi at about 2030 GMT on Saturday.

The driver of the small silver car failed to stop at the scene. It headed off in the direction of the roundabout at Croft Road and Heath End Road.

The woman suffered serious pelvic injuries, a broken forearm and a broken ankle.

Police urged anyone with information to contact them.
