Lindsay Ann Hawker's family say if her attacker has had plastic surgery they are angry he managed to do so
Police in Japan have released a picture of a man suspected of murdering a British woman showing how he is now thought to look after plastic surgery.
A man resembling Tatsuya Ichihashi recently had plastic surgery in Japan, according to news reports.
Mr Ichihashi escaped as police arrived at his Tokyo flat in March 2007 to find Lindsay Ann Hawker, from Brandon, near Coventry, buried in a sand-filled bath.
The suspect, now 30, is thought to have had cheek implants and lip-thinning.
Police went to the hospital where the patient had a follow-up appointment
Miss Hawker's family say, if the reports are true, they are angry he has managed to undergo the procedure.
Police went to the clinic where the plastic surgery patient had a follow-up appointment, but he failed to arrive, according to news reports in Japan.
Detectives examined photographs provided by the hospital and believe their patient was the suspect, the reports stated.
Miss Hawker had been teaching English at Koiwa school in Tokyo, after graduating from Leeds University.
The 22-year-old disappeared after giving Mr Ichihashi an English lesson.
'Give him up'
A reward of 10m yen (£63,397) has been offered by police in Japan.
Miss Hawker's father Bill urged anyone helping Ichihashi to "give him up".
"I'm just so, so, angry that this can happen in Japan when he is supposed to be a wanted man.
"There are supposed to be thousands and thousands of posters of Ichihashi and yet he can change.
"Who is helping him? If you are helping him, give him up.
"There is a 10m yen (£63,397) for the reward. I wish I could double that reward - if I could, I would.
"This man needs to be caught for the sake of my poor daughter."
