Thieves try to pull man from car

A gang of thieves tried to pull a man from his car in a robbery at traffic lights in Warwickshire.

Police said the three balaclava-wearing men approached the car at the lights in Church Street, Nuneaton, between 0130 GMT and 0200 GMT on Sunday.

They opened the driver's door and one man punched him in the face, while another kicked him in the body and tried to pull him out of the car.

The thieves failed but opened the passenger door and took several items.

They stole a NatWest bank card, a driving licence, a mobile phone and a set of keys.

The driver was not injured in the attack.

Police said they were checking CCTV images and urged anyone who saw the attack on the red Peugeot 106 to contact them.
