Arsonist leaves trousers at scene

An arsonist is believed to have left his trousers at the scene of a fire in Warwickshire.

A pair of men's jeans were recovered from the fire at a sports court in Acre Close, Whitnash, Leamington Spa, on Monday evening.

Police have asked the public if anybody saw "anyone walking through Whitnash only partially dressed?".

A spokeswoman added: "Did a member of your family return home last night without his trousers?"

She said: "Amongst the items left burning on the court was a pair of men's jeans, indicating that one of the offenders may have gone home without his trousers."

The fire caused damage to the sports court, an electric junction box and wire fencing, police said.
