Community hospitals in Warwickshire have gained good scores in a national assessment which examined cleanliness, food and privacy. Alcester Hospital, Ellen Badger Hospital, Leamington Rehab Hospital and the Nicol Unit in Stratford, were all rated as either excellent or good. Bramcote Hospital in Nuneaton was given ratings of either acceptable or good in the areas assessed. The inspections were carried out by a Patient Environment Action Team. This was made up of NHS staff, patients and members of the public. A spokeswoman for NHS Warwickshire said the scores were pleasing and gave credit to staff who "work tirelessly". The 22-bed Alcester Hospital is to close to make way for a new health centre.
