Crowds turn out for city carnival

A carnival through Coventry city centre has drawn large crowds of people.

Bands and dance troupes were among groups in the procession through the city to War Memorial Park on Saturday as part of the annual Godiva Festival.

The event, the UK's biggest free festival, was being held in the park for the 12th year.

Other entertainment has included 1980s pop band Go West, who performed on Friday. The festival was set to continue in the city until Sunday.

Organisers said more than 70,000 people were expected to attend the three-day event.
