The family have reappealed for help catching Tatsuya Ichiashi
The family of a woman murdered near Tokyo have marked the second anniversary of her death by handing out flyers to Japanese commuters.
Lindsay Hawker, 22, of Brandon, Warwickshire, was found in a bathtub filled with sand in an apartment near Tokyo in March 2007.
The chief suspect Tatsuya Ichihashi, 29, who Ms Hawker had given English lessons to, has never been found.
Her family said they had been pleased with the public's response.
They handed out flyers to commuters at Gyotoku railway station on Wednesday morning.
Laid flowers
Their spokeswoman Amanda Stocks said: "People came up to the family and said they remembered Lindsay the English teacher who was murdered.
"They all feel a lot of sorrow and embarrassment that he [Ichihashi] has not been caught."
Ms Hawker had given an English lesson to Ichiashi at a coffee shop in Tokyo on 25 March and her body was discovered two days later.
He escaped as police arrived at the apartment.
Her parents Bill and Julia and sisters Lisa and Louise visited the apartment earlier this week and laid flowers.
They have been critical in the past of the Japanese police's investigation and said at a press conference on Tuesday that they had felt "as if we have been on our own" during the inquiry.
