Man stabbed three times for phone

A 32-year-old man has been stabbed by a group of men armed with knives who stole his mobile telephone.

The attack happened at about 0100 GMT on Sunday as the victim was walking with a friend along Winston Avenue in Wood End, Coventry.

He was attacked by a group of three or four white men, police said.

The man, who was stabbed in the back, also suffered head injuries and a broken nose. Police are appealing for information about the attack.
