Six men have been arrested over the murder of a man whose badly burned body was found near the M45 in Warwickshire.

The man, who police said they have now identified, was found alight on an embankment near Dunchurch, Rugby, on 30 December.

The arrested men were all from east London, police said.

Detectives said they would not be releasing the name of the man, also thought to be from east London, until his next-of-kin had been informed.

A post-mortem examination carried out found the man had suffered substantial head injuries before he was set on fire.

Police released an artist's impression of the man earlier this week.

The investigation has now been transferred from Warwickshire Police to the Metropolitan Police.

Officers have also been studying CCTV cameras from various locations and used vehicle recognition technology on vehicles using that stretch of the M45.
