A nine-year-old Warwickshire girl has won a competition to write a Famous Five book.

Imogen Wright, of Atherstone, beat hundreds of children to win the under-nine's section.

The Case Of The Missing Brooch has been turned into a limited edition book and podcast.

It features characters from the Disney TV series based on Enid Blyton's books and features the children of Julian, Anne, George, Dick and Timmy the dog.

'Really excited'

The judges, who included bestselling children's author Cressida Cowell, said Imogen's story "best captured the spirit of adventure, mystery and friendship epitomised by the original books".

Imogen, a pupil at St Benedicts Roman Catholic Primary School, Atherstone, said: "I heard about the competition from my teacher through the National Schools Partnership, and thought this was a great chance to be really creative with my writing.

"I was really excited when I found out that I'd won as I'd love to be a famous author when I'm older."

She was presented with her limited edition books at an assembly at her school on Friday.

The competition was run by publishers Hodder and Disney to mark the launch of the channel's new Famous Five series.
