Police investigating the death of a man who ran across a motorway after a stabbing attack have released images of the vehicle he had been in.

The man was hit by a lorry travelling north on the M6 near Corley services in Warwickshire on Sunday evening.

Police think a rear passenger in a minibus stabbed the front passenger and then left the van onto the carriageway.

A 47-year-old man was taken to hospital with stab wounds. Eighteen people were treated after seven vehicles collided.

Several vehicles

The vehicles, including the lorry, were involved in a collision immediately after the man was struck on the motorway.

The injuries sustained by the man with stab wounds were not considered to be life-threatening.

A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault after the incident, which began at about 2110 BST, but was later released without charge.

Police said they could not be sure about what happened, but they believed there may have been three people on board the minibus.

The man who ran onto the motorway was hit by several vehicles, including a lorry, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 18 people were treated for minor injuries and shock.

Anyone who saw the crash has been asked to contact Warwickshire Police.
