Giant Ferris wheel plans rejected

Plans for a giant Ferris wheel in a Warwickshire town have been turned down by councillors.

Those behind the Stratford-upon-Avon plans said it would have been similar to other wheels in London's Hyde Park, York and Birmingham.

It would have been placed until autumn in the town's Bancroft Gardens, by the River Avon.

However, councillors said it would not be in keeping with the character of the historic town.
