Plans for a garden in memory of four Warwickshire firemen killed tackling a warehouse blaze are set to be approved.

Ashley Stephens, 20, John Averis, 27, Darren Yates-Badley, 24, and Ian Reid, 44, died fighting the fire in Atherstone-on-Stour in November.

The plan to develop vacant land next to Alcester Fire Station is recommended for approval by district planners.

The public garden will include a sculpture or water feature with planting areas, a gazebo and seating.

The plans go before the West Area Planning Committee of Stratford-upon-Avon District Council later.

Mr Yates-Badley and Mr Stephens, were based at Alcester; Mr Averis and Mr Reid, were based at Stratford-upon-Avon Fire Station.

An appeal called The One Hour, Four Lives campaign was launched in December to mark the lives of the four men and provide long-term support to their families.
