Police have been granted more time to question a man over a fatal stabbing in a Warwickshire town centre.

Nuneaton Magistrates' Court granted police 36 more hours to question a 28-year-old man on suspicion of murdering Kevin Wright, 20, in Rugby.

Mr Wright, of Bilton, Rugby, died after being stabbed on Monday. His brother Danny, 22, and uncle Carl Wright, 30, were also stabbed and are in hospital.

Police now have until Friday evening to question the man, from Birmingham.

He was arrested on Tuesday.

Police are also looking for a silver Audi A3, R-reg car, which had alloy wheels and a sunroof, and could be connected to the incident.

It was seen in the Handsworth area of Birmingham after the attack which happened in Regent Street at about 0245 BST.

A post-mortem examination on Mr Wright showed he died from multiple stab wounds.

Police have appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time of the attack to contact them.

A spokeswoman said they particularly wanted to speak to anyone who took photographs of the scene.
