'Mystery' of person in the road
Police have described an incident where a person lying in a road was then driven away as a "mystery".

Officers were told the person was picked up from the road in Bell Green, Coventry, on Monday and put in a dark coloured hatchback which drove off.

Police found blood stains in the road but said it was not clear if they were related to the incident involving the person, believed to be a man.

They said it could be an innocent matter but have to take it seriously.

Anyone who was in the Miles Meadow and Dame Agnes Grove area on Monday evening is being urged to contact police.

The West Midlands force said there had been no reports of anyone being involved in a crime or traffic accident there, or of anyone going missing.

Police said they believe the person who reported the incident at about 2150 GMT was genuine.
