Thousands of items went on sale
The Royal Shakespeare Company has made £57,000 from a costume sale.

Hundreds of people queued up to buy costumes and items from productions such as the Beauty and the Beast and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Up to 3,000 items made by the company's costume department were sold on Friday and Saturday last week.

The RSC, based in Stratford-on-Avon, said it was necessary to free up more space in their collection. Its last costume sale was held six years ago.
