Jobs offered at old Peugeot site
Ryton car factory, Coventry
2,300 workers lost their jobs when the Peugeot factory closed
The new owner of the former Peugeot site in Coventry has begun recruiting hundreds of warehouse workers.

Trenport has asked for permission to allow Littlewoods to use a warehouse on the Ryton site as a sorting office in the run up to Christmas.

Around 600 jobs are set to be created at the warehouse, which Trenport hopes will be in business by next month.

Some residents have objected to the plans, saying lorries using the site would create noise and disruption.

The Peugeot plant shut in January with the loss of 2,300 jobs when production of the 206 model moved to Slovakia.
