Black Widow spider found in car
Dorothy - a Black Widow spider
Dorothy is settling into her new home, unscathed by her travels
A man found a poisonous black widow spider in a car which had been imported into the country from the US.

The spider was found in a dark corner of the car in Strensham, Worcs, after it arrived from Arizona.

The man immediately called the RSPCA and the female spider, named Dorothy, is now settling into her new home at Stratford Butterfly Farm, Warwickshire.

Black Widows are one of the most poisonous spiders in the world although their bites are mostly not fatal.

A spokesman for the farm said Dorothy seemed unscathed after her travels.
